Yes, I rescued another kitten. I heard this one Friday morning and peaked over the fence to find another abandoned kitten. I think this one is from the same litter as the white one; he seemed a little stronger and one eye was open (the other was infected shut and had puss leaking out of it). Poor thing. Matthew came over to help me feed it and tried cleaning out its eye. He cleaned it enough so the kitten could open it a little -- won't he be a great vet! This kitten was black with white feet and underbelly and was adorable! I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but I couldn't let him just lie their helpless. Heartbroken...We fed it and then let it sleep in my room snuggled in a nice warm blanket. I called the Humane Society to see if they would do anything and their reply was, that is animal control responsibility. Well, I had called them that morning (before retrieving kitten num.2) to tell them about both kittens and that there was one in his back yard, abandoned at that very moment. They still wouldn't do anything. They claimed they had dropped off a notice and were waiting for him to reply. Yeah right! The smell is getting SO bad, it is unpleasant to walk outside our house. But we got kitten number 2 taken care of and luckily the same vet tech that took the white one was willing to take this little guy too. Thanks Ashley! They are both doing well as far as I know. Lucky little kitties:)
