Halloween Festivities

I have had such a wonderful Halloween that has been full of all kinds of fun activities and family. We celebrated Tyler's birthday of course and had both families come to their house to celebrate with hot wings, yummy soups, and Raspberry & Cherry Cheesecake. It was lots of fun getting everyone together....

Side story...earlier when Tiffany was making Potato soup, she put a square of butter into a pan on the gas stove not expecting it to go up in flames! She isn't used to the gas and the fact that it heats up super fast. So I am up in my room watching a movie and the smoke detectors go off. It is common for them to go off when someone is in the kitchen...my mom used to set them off all the time; they must be really sensitive or something. So I think nothing of it and then after they continue I decide to check things out. As soon as I opened my door, the whole hallway was filled with smoke! Ahhh! I go downstairs to make sure everything is under control. Apparently, Tiff reacted by picking up the pot bc she didn't want the cabinets to catch fire (flames where almost touching the ceiling!) Tyler tells her to put it down and she dropped it, burning the linoleum. She had burns on her arms and face. Poor Tiffany...not a fan of the gas stove. Anyways, we can laugh about it now that it is over!I miss seeing my mom every day so it is a real treat when I do get to see her smiling face.Aspen loves loves books...especially the Potty Train [when will she take it seriously?]Delicious Potato Soup in Pumpkin Bread Bowls AND my mom's famous Hot Wings! Tradition!Kelly and Mike (Tiff's brother and his wife)Kylee (Kelly's daughter)Tyler blowing out his candle....we couldn't fit 27 on there...we might have really started a fire:) hahahahahaha hehehehe Dessert is served!Janeia and Rob (Tiffany's other brother and his wife)

Halloween was on Sunday, so the kids went Trick-or-treating the night before. Aren't they adorable! They were dressed as Star Wars characters, Padame & Yoda. I wasn't super creative this year, just a cowgirl - a TeXas Cowgirl...already had the stuff. My parents love the joys that come from having the cutest grandchildren ever!

One day when I got home from work, we decided to make and decorate Halloween Sugar cookies. Mmmm Mmm Yummy! I am pretty sure Aspen, Tiff, and I ate more cookie dough than we actually baked! haha! Aspen enjoyed decorating, she mostly put a little frosty on top, then licked the knife, put the sprinkles on, ate one or two, then took a bite. I think in the end there were 3 cookies with just a tiny, single bite from her. I guess it was required she try every one she decorated just to be sure it was good! She looks just like her mommy and they even have cute matching aprons! My Singles ward had a fun FHE the Monday before Halloween. Here are the few that were dressed up. We also carved pumpkins and had a contest for the best ones. Fun times!

Happy Halloween Y'all!
