It's Alright

Daruis Rucker is one of my favorite country singers and I love the meanings that come from his songs. One of my favorites is "Alright" and the lyrics really make me stop and think. Let me share....
Alright, Alright
Yeah it's alright, alright

Don't need no five star reservations
I've got spaghetti and a cheap bottle of wine
Don't need no concert in the city
I've got a stereo and the best of Patsy Cline
Ain't got no caviar no Dom Perignon
But as far as I can see, I've got everything I want

Cause I've got a roof over my head,
the woman I love laying in my bed
And it's alright, alright
I've got shoes under my feet
Forever in her eyes staring back at me
And it's alright, alright
And I've got all I need
And it's alright by me

Maybe later on we'll walk down to the river
Lay on a blanket and stare up at the moon
It may not be no French Riviera
But it's all the same to me as long as I've got you

It may be a simple life, but that's okay

If you ask me baby, I think I've got it made
Cause I've got a roof over my head,
the woman I love laying in my bed
And it's alright, alright
I've got shoes under my feet
Forever in her eyes staring back at me
And it's alright, alright
And I've got all I need
And it's alright by me

It's alright by me, yeah yeah
When I lay down at night I thank the Lord above
For giving me everything I ever could dream of

Cause I've got a roof over my head,
the woman I love laying in my bed
And it's alright, alright, alright, alright
I've got shoes under my feet
Forever in her eyes staring back at me
And it's alright, alright, alright
And I've got all I need, yeah
I've got all I need
And it's alright by me
Oh yeah, it's alright by me

I may not have the most fancy things and I may have many hardships in my life. I haven't quite found the one I love yet but I know that day will come. I have created my own life and I love it. I am so blessed with so many simple and wonderful things. I have a roof over my head and shoes under my feet. I have a steady job and the opportunity to go to school and get my education. I live in America, land of the free and have the knowledge of the Gospel. I am blessed with many wonderful friends and people who love and care about me.
My family is amazing and love every second I have to spend with them. I am so grateful we can be together forever! This past week we had to cancel our trip to Colorado. The weather was supposed to be horrible for traveling and my parents felt very strongly that we weren't supposed to go. So we changed our plans. It was disappointing, but at the same time, we knew that was what we were supposed to do. Besides, the whole point was to spend time together and we have been able to do plenty of that. We went up to the Sperry Cabin in Sundance for a night and currently are all staying at my parents house. We had a delicious Thanksgiving Dinner and have had lots of good laughs. Time with family, who could ever ask for anything more!
