Easter Day Celebration

Easter this year was very different then our traditional Easter celebration. I have to say, I had a good time at the Tye cabin, spending time with the family but felt a little frustrated with parts of the day as well. My parents decided to drive up to the cabin  in Heber earlier in the day. I was happy we were invited (well, actually my mom kind of invited us since we currently don't have a kitchen) to enjoy dinner with family. We enjoyed a yummy ham & turkey dinner, hunted for easter eggs (even the big kids got to participate in searching for eggs filled with sugary goodness), talked about the cougars that have been spotted close by, and played a few games of bananagrams.
But I was disappointed they decided to drive up before our church meetings...what is Easter all about? The celebration of our Savior, Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice. I love the spiritual meaning to Easter. I love the fact that spring is beginning to blossom and new life is all around. Easter is actually my favorite holiday and we have built many fun traditions in our family. We normally do the Easter Eggs filled with symbols of the atonement and site scriptures and other references & we didn't get a chance to do that this year which made me a little sad. The tv was on the whole time, even during dinner, which makes it hard to really enjoy the company of family and the time away from everything chaotic in life. I am grateful we had a place to go and I am indeed grateful for the love I have in my family, I just wish my Easter could've been more spiritual, the way it should be.
On the Hunt....
