My Grandpa & My Hero

Shirl Bawden Inkley

My Grandpa Inkley passed away this last weekend to return with his Heavenly Father. He truly is my hero in so many more ways then one. His willingness to reach out to those in need and serve unconditionally. His sweet spirit filled any room he was present in and he sure did have a great love for the gospel. He had such a burning testimony which he shared often, for he wanted to be sure his family knew that this gospel is true. It was so important to him to live a life that would allow him to return to our Father in Heaven. I know I will see him again and our family will be reunited to together forever and ever.

Father to 5 girls, 3 boys, & 2 Navajo Indian girls * Husband to Elaine May Kendrick for 63 years & 3 months * 33 Grandchildren (+ 19 spouses) * 41 great grandchildren * 1 great great granddaughter *

Always came to visit us in Texas - We got them all to ourselves! He loved to watch my gymnastics and loved to go to the beach with us. Fun Facts about my Grandpa:
* Shoe Size: 13 * Favorite Candy: Look Bar and Worthers Caramels * Favorite Color: Red * Birthday: Aug 13, 1928 * Loved anything to do with water - boating, skiing, water fights (he always started them) * Served as Bishop for about 4 years * loved to explore outdoors - used to look for Uranium at Lake Powell * Loved to travel as the driver, in fact, he has been to all 50 state minus Hawaii * carried a pilot license to fly small planes * loved car mechanics - always working on someones car for nothing * Treated his cars like babies, clean and well washed - once he caught the German Measles and made grandma go out and dust/clean his car every day while he was sick * Served in the Navy * Loved his family and put everything aside to spend time with them * Had a strong testimony of the gospel *

I love you Grandpa, to the moon & back & a thousand times more!

God Be with you til we meet again . . .
