I have started working out after work on the weekdays (conditioning) and on Saturdays I go in and actually work on skills on vault, bars, beam, & floor. I am loving it! So much is coming back so quickly! But today, well, it turned out good and bad. What happened you ask? well. . . I did giants (on straps) and stuck 10 beam mounts (jump to splits-no hands). But that is basically all I finished, besides a few basics on floor and beam series on the floor. Why didn't I do more? well, I pulled a muscle in my stomach and after 3 front passes on floor decided I had better stop to prevent it from getting worse, b/c it already was. Plus on beam I received a nasty goose-egg on my shin! yeah, It wasn't the greatest day. I really wanted to flip my vault today, but I decided I better not b/c, with my luck, I probably would've come home with a concussion!

I'm sorry that you were having a rough day in the gym. I am glad though that you are still working out and staying with it.
It has nothing to do with LUCK. Gymnastics is a mean, risky, highly injurable (is that a word) sport and sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Don't blame it on your luck, consider the fact that you haven't been training for a while.
You know what's sad? I don't even WANT to start training again. I never thought I would feel this way, but its true. I like playing, but I have NO desire to be able to flip and fly in the same ways I used to. How crazy is that?
That does not sound like to much fun. I am sorry you got hurt. Its no fun getting old :) Hehe. I am with Jess about not wanting to train like I used to with tennis. It just makes me to tired and I am to old. I think its great that you get to still workout though. Do it as long as you can!
