Going Home to TeXas

Our family had a Wonderful time, none of us wanted to get back on the plane back to Utah! I would have the world's largest blog if I were to go into detail, so I am just going to summarize the highlights of the trip; The first few days we hung around Austin, exploring the city that continues to grow tremendously! It is SO green down there, especially with all the rain storms they've been getting. I was able to see one of my closest friends, Deedee which was reallly exciting. We didn't have a whole lot of time to spend, but that's OK, it was worth it! We went to lunch at thundercloud. . . the most amazing sub sandwiches EVER! Then we went to Amy's Ice Cream and to be honest, it wasn't as good as I remember it being. Coldstone is still my favorite no doubt; Marble slab comes in pretty close. OK, I'm getting off subject. Then we went back to the house, played with her new kitty, Simba, and had a photo shoot (Photography done by Hunter Goodall-her brother). We had so much fun she ended up late for somewhere she had to be. oops!
We stayed with the Goodall's at the beginning and the end of our trip. When we left Austin, we headed for San Antonio. We had full days here, though i think every day of our trip was full. We went to Schlitterbahn and Sea World, 2 of my favorite amusement parks. Schlitterbahn was packed! i think I went on a total of 6 rides, something like that. So we spent a lot of time in the "wave/whirl pool" which is a blast. There is no line and it goes around and around and up and down! hehehe. SeaWorld wasn't too crowded. In fact none of the rides had lines, you just walked up and got on. Atlantis is there newest ride, you get pretty wet. I am not sure if I really have a favorite show, they are all fun. Shamoo and Viva would be it if i had to chose. I love feeding the dolphins, I always have, in fact my dream is to swim with them someday. That would be awesome! Sarah Becker and her mom came with us to Sea World, its almost become tradition. Sarah and I always loved going to SeaWorld together!

Skier * Nick * Skier * Sarah * Me * Cute Skier!!

We went to the Alamo downtown as well as the Riverwalk. That sure brought back a lot of memories. Not to mention the days of sitting in school learning Texas History, including the battle of the Alamo. The Riverwalk is so pretty. It is extremely green and is surrounded by many old, historical buildings. I loved the ducks; they swim in the river, begging for food at the resturaunts which line the river and when a boat comes along, they dodge them at the last second. Its quite entertaining really. We went on the boat, walked the river, ate wonderful food, and of course, you can't forget the SHOPPING! the San Antonio Zoo is the second largest zoo in the Nation. I was a little disappointed b/c there was so much construction going on. I have to admit though, once they finish, it will be WAY awesome. My favorites were the cats and monkeys. The Ally was pretty funny too, just the way he was sitting and staring at everyone who walked The whole family had a blast in Corpus Christi! We stayed in the Raddisson Hotel which set right on the beach. We visited the traditional beach which we always go to, Maliquite Beach. The waves weren't huge, but big enough to boogie board on and have a good time. They were about 3 footers. We really didn't run into any jelly fish, but my mom saw a baby stingray and I believe I saw a baby shark. EEEK! I also found a little sea crab. . . he was Tiny and so cute:) My mother wanted to have some fun in the sand, so she went up and bought a shovel and pale. We buried my dad first, turning him into a merman. Then Nick decided he too wanted to be buried. we built a Hammerhead Shark, Nick was being eaten by it. Here my mom and i are saving him! After our 2 days at the beach, we drove back to Austin. Once again we explored all the changes. We went into our old neighborhood, Travis Country. We actually ran into my 5th grade teacher, Mr. Cash; I was hoping to. It was really nice to see him, he taught me so much and I am so grateful to be able to keep in touch with him. After some exploring we met at some of our dearest friends, the Oldham's. We cooked hamburgers and swam in there new pool. Great times.
We were able to meet with some old friends, the Stephen's, for breakfast before we flew back to reality. It was fun to sit and relax a little and catch up on missed times. But now, here I am, back in SLC adjusting to real life, work and school. Grrr!
